HOW DOES A SPIDERS DIGESTIVE SYSTEM WORK?
-The mouth is the beginning of this system, which includes the coxa of the pedipalps- responsible for the chewing
- A part called the maxillae has a sharp edge enabling them to bite into their pray, and is covered in tiny hairs that filter what goes in their mouth. The filter is so fine only things greater than 1 micron are able to fit through.
-The maxillae are what makes up the sides of the mouth. The front is an organ called the rostrum and the back is a short tube filled with tiny teeth that also act as a filter. This tube is called a pharynx. The pharynx next goes to oesophagus, where the food reaches a sucking stomach. This stomach draws the liquid food parts and then goes to the intestine.
-the intestine is a holder for wastes until it leaves the body
